Introductory Session Watercolor Workshop

WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP

Dear lover of art, nature, and curious experiences,

I invite you to delve into the wonderful world of watercolor in one of the most magical places in this city: the Botanical Garden or in Lalambik, an authentic art studio in the heart of the city's most emblematic and artistic neighborhood, Russafa.

Am Carmen Ibarra, painter, And I love sharing everything I know about this wonderful technique. More about my workshops HERE

In three hours you will learn the basics to navigate the world of shapes and colors. Imagine a place where water lilies never die and it is always spring, as Marguerite Yourcenar evoked in her Oriental Tales.

Understand the principles of color through watercolor

In my workshops we approach the watercolor technique from the color, Because for me it is one of the most important lessons of painting, regardless of the technique we use.

When a work is well-constructed in terms of color, it begins to make sense even if we don't yet have much skill in drawing. A painting may be more or less proportionate, but if the color scheme is well-integrated, the work works.

Therefore, in the first session we will work on the basic principles of color applied to watercolor. We will do a Chromatic flower based on the three primary colors, experimenting with their mixtures and relationships.

Next, we will continue with different proposals to discover the possibilities of watercolor through the brushstrokes, transparencies, and textures.

It's not just about painting pretty. It's about understanding why a painting works.

Paint in the Botanical Garden

The workshop in the Botanical Garden takes place outdoors, where we will sit comfortably, surrounded by nature.

You don't need to bring anything for the Introduction Session, as I have all the materials: boards, brushes, glasses of water, papers... everything you need to immerse yourself in watercolor.

We'll sit in a relaxed way, some people on the garden benches and others on small stools I'll bring. It will be like a painting picnic, where there are no strict rules, only the desire to create and enjoy.

If you prefer, you can bring your own folding chair to be even more comfortable.

Pint in Lalambik

In Lalambik We will sit around a table with Carmen, the painter who is leading this experience.

Lalambik It is an authentic art studio in the heart of Russafa, where you can enjoy watercolor painting in a more intimate and studio-like environment, sharing the session with the group.

Watercolor is a journey

Through some exercises and suggestions you will learn the basics of the technique, but the most important thing is that, little by little, you can take watercolor anywhere: to the garden, to the beach, to your house or wherever inspiration strikes.

Watercolor is a journey, and this workshop will be the beginning of that journey.

You'll take your artwork home as a reflection of the experience. Art has that magic: it transports us back to the moment we create it, preserving that unique moment forever.
