Travel Notebook is a proposal by Carmen Ibarra for lovers of experiences, of traveling around the world and also to our inner worlds, because in the end art is that, a look inwards.
In the summer, when we take those days to disconnect, it's the best time to start an artist's notebook for this time when we can spend quality time on those days off, doing an activity we enjoy.
The artists try to carry a sketchbook and some art supplies: watercolors, inks, pencils, or markers. They paint and draw anything, from an insect to a figment of their imagination. In this way, experiences from another time and place are expressed and captured on paper.
Our notebook also accepts words, thoughts, perhaps even poems. An artist's sketchbook embraces everything: different techniques and styles, landscapes, self-portraits, portraits of friends, or even your own portrait drawn by them. Each page is an experience captured beyond mere memory. A travel journal is an intimate and uninhibited document.
Watercolor is an ideal technique because it's quick and doesn't require much setup. It allows you to carry a small studio with you wherever you go and to express yourself freely. Some pencils, pens, or charcoal can also be useful.
On this occasion, and within the framework of Travel Notebooks, which are the occasional workshops I offer in the summer, I have the pleasure of opening a group to carry out an activity that we love, painting, and doing it is even more wonderful when it is in Altea, in its old town, home and inspiration of numerous painters throughout history.
SCHEDULES, LOCATION, PRICES AND MATERIALS
The workshop will take place in the afternoon from 6 to 8 pm on August 11th and 18th in the old town of Altea at one of the sea viewpoints located in the shade at these times, near the Portal Nou.
We will meet a little before 6pm at the church door to head in a short walk to our location.
25e per session with materials included: stand, watercolor, paper and brushes.
