Hello art lovers!
Painting the sea It is a proposal by Carmen Ibarra for lovers of curious experiences, of traveling the world and also of traveling to our inner worlds, because in the end art is that, a look inwards.
In the summer, when we take those days to disconnect, it's the best time to start an artist's sketchbook, and watercolor is a perfect painting technique for it.

Therefore, I invite you to this workshop where you will learn the basic principles of watercolor and I propose that you delve into this wonderful world that will allow you to express your feelings through color.

Watercolor is a fantastic technique because it's quick and doesn't require much setup. It allows you to take a small studio with you wherever you go. Some pencils, pens, or charcoal can also be useful.

I am pleased to open a group to do an activity that we love, painting, and doing it is even more wonderful when it is in front of the sea and shared with people who love art or who are interested in approaching it.

In this workshop, we'll delve into the basic principles of color, drawing a color wheel to understand color harmonies and how to use and create colors from the primaries. We'll also do a brushstroke exercise, learning to handle the brush and its different possibilities. Finally, we'll create a piece using the wet-on-wet technique in a grayscale exercise, followed by dry layers. In short, we'll explore the fundamentals of painting through watercolor, providing a springboard for our introduction to this wonderful technique.

The location for our experience is just a few meters from the public parking lot, right below the beautiful Villa Gadea, in the pine forest facing the sea.

The teacher will distribute the materials for the activity, watercolors, papers, brushes, etc. and will guide the participants in some technical exercises so that they can then paint with complete freedom.

At the end of the activity, everyone will do as they please; in most cases, this will mean celebrating with a swim in the turquoise sea so characteristic of Altea, having a drink at the Arrecife beach bar, or going to the town to take a stroll through the beautiful old town.

Although there are benches available, it is recommended to bring a beach chair and/or stool for greater comfort.
